The grueling journey across sinking sand dunes and bone jolting tracks tests their limits, and finds them often alone until "angels" of the desert appear out of no where.

Alec and Jan narrate Chapter 17, Treats Galore. The salty smell and the crashing waves of the Mediterranean Sea were a welcomed sight for Alec and Jan, after completing their second grueling conquest of the Sahara. Time for a bit of a European repose and sightseeing.
